Bergen County is continuing to get pounded with snow, but Bergen Eatery crew is out and about exploring good places to get delicious food. Where are we off to this cold and snowy evening? South America! The new Mexican kitchen opened up on Anderson Avenue - Cafe Salsa! The atmosphere here is warm and relaxing, just what you would expect from a southern-themed restaurant. I brought my own wine here, and they happily opened it for $6. Well, while I don't like the cork charges, its still cheaper than buying bar drinks. Though, Cafe Salsa does not yet serve alcohol. Now, the best part here, as far as I'm concerned, is the salsa! Hey, one would expect from a place with "salsa" in it's name to have a good salsa! It is fresh and spicy! With the crunchy chips, the salsa is a great free appetizer! For the main course, we had a beef burrito and shrimp tacos. First of all, the plates are huge! Seriously, for the price of $11.95 for the beef burrito and $14.95 for shrimp tacos (2 tacos in the serving), I think they really treat you here. Each dish is served with rice and beans too, very well prepared. Both dishes were delicious and the staff was courteous to ask how everything was going. I really hope these guys are going to keep up with this service! So, in the end, total damage with tips came out to $40. For two, I think it's a good deal. As always, if you're interested in checking out the place, we have all info available to you right at your fingertips on our website.

NEWS FEED

We got first snow today in Bergen County, and nothing could've been more perfect than to get a hot cup of delicious cappuccino at Cafe Fiora. This nice little cafe is located at the corner of Anderson Avenue and Greenmount Avenue, and has a very cozy atmosphere. The Cafe serves very reasonably priced paninis. I went for the panini Fiore today, and it did not disappoint. While the sandwich was not served on, what I would find, usual panini flatbread, the bread, prosciutto, and veggies were all very fresh. The best part is that one order of $5.95 panini feeds two! So, a lunch for two came out to just $15 with tips. If you're interested in checking out this place yourself, you can find more details about it and the menu on our website.

This restaurant has awesome Chinese food. The workers there are extremely nice. The lunch specials are the best and the combination platters are good, too. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially those of you who love Chinese food!
